The Wales Green Party has announced today that their Leader, Pippa Bartolotti, is their candidate for the upcoming European Elections to be held next May.
The Euro candidate said, “I want everyone in Wales to be inspired to go out and vote, because it’s the only way to make sure the most representative candidate for Wales is chosen. “That’s why I’m standing for A Green Wales in Europe. Some issues are just too big for Wales to fight alone, such as energy, climate change, environment, terrorism and security. On all these things there needs to be a joined-up approach, because one small country working in isolation can achieve very little.”
The Green Free Alliance in Europe is 74 strong. Enough to make a real difference. Europe is important because it’s the largest single market in the world – 500 million people. Laws made in Europe set the highest standard and have ensured generations of peace and stability – an aspect of the EU which is often overlooked.
Pippa Bartolotti added, “Greens have been committed for more than 40 years to stabilising a safe environment, and know that sound social and economic platforms are needed to support these firmly held values, which more and more people now recognise are vital to a productive future.
“Many Welsh people see that Greens are occupying a place in politics for the common good.”
The Welsh Greens have been consistently increasing their vote in every election. Almost everyone in Wales knows something good about the Greens, and many are actively thinking about voting Green in the next election.
The Wales Green Party campaign ‘A Green Wales in Europe’, starts early in the New Year. Election day is 22nd May 2014
